Things Of Old

Everyone who knows me knows that I treasure my VCD collection like it's a multi billion dollar treasure. It's been my obsession since I first stepped into a theatre and got impressed with the first movie I watched alone. From then on, i've collected over 200 movies, ranging from comedy, drama, action, thriller, cartoons, animations and the whole shebang.

I'm practically famous for owning a huge collection, being EXTREMELY fussy about their conditions and taking great care of how they are kept. To each movie, there is a small story behind it and it's etched in my memory like it's a part of my brain already.

But here's the sad fact. VCDs are a thing of the past. The quality isn't fantastic, they just aren't good enough. Now, DVDs are the thing now, people buy them all the time. What's the difference? Damned quality. I've seen the difference and oh my dear god, i've tried to ignore it, but it's just too damn good.

What's my decision? I've decided to sell off some of the not-so-fantastic VCDs I have and get some money for something better off. After all, you do want quality when you watch something. Well, it don't mean that i'm going to buy DVDs like you buy food, it's just that......

It's time to grow out of it. Though it hurts my heart to see them go, I rather it went before it gets too much and I can't handle it. For now, all say farewell to my lovely VCD collection and the start of the DVD collection. It's only going to be a DVD per month, don't worry. =)
